Could you eat and live without sugar?

I've been making an attempt to cut out white cane sugar as much as I can. I'm not really uptight about it, but I'm trying. I think as I continue to make the effort, there are plenty of days that go by, and I don't have any sugar! There are plenty of natural sweeteners to use in baking like, honey, real maple syrup, molasses, rapadura or even stevia. I don't know how to bake with all of these yet, but I've successfully substituted honey or maple syrup in place of white sugar. Why? Sugar offsets the chemical balance of the body. It depletes phosphorus in the blood, which causes a pull of calcium and phosphorus from the bones. Through nutrition, I am attempting to solve my cavity problem I've had my whole life, and part of that is avoiding white sugar and white flour. I don't want any more minerals being pulled from my teeth! How do you replace sugar? Do you think you could go a day without eating any sugar? Where do you find sugar in un-suspecting places?

I don't think that I could do it, but good for you. That is interesting about it leeching minerals from your body. I'm interested to hear what your findings and opinions are about cooking with natural sweeteners.
